RustEQ - le bleu

The Pultec©, modernised

RustEQ le bleu

"le bleu" goes as far as you do

What is RustEQ le bleu
- A modern take on the classic passive "program" equalizer — the broad, gentle, musical curves that kept the original hardware a studio fixture for decades.

- Valued for a sound that flatters rather than corrects: boosts and cuts that settle into a mix instead of fighting it.

- A tone-shaping and character EQ, not a surgical/clinical one. It's chosen for how it sounds, not just what it changes. The EQ
The EQ
- Independent boost and cut on both the low and high bands — including the well-known passive-EQ move of boosting and cutting the same low frequency at once, for tight, defined low end without the mud just above it.

- Low band selectable from 20 Hz to 800 Hz.

- High boost from 1.5 kHz to 16 kHz with continuously variable bandwidth — from a narrow presence peak to a wide "air" shelf.

- Separate high-frequency cut band (3–20 kHz) for taming top end independently of the boost.

- Wider ranges and more frequency choices than the original hardware — the same character, with more reach.
The Colour Section
Five independent analog-modelled stages, each switchable in or out:

- Input tube — even-harmonic warmth and drive at the front end.

- Output tube — a separate drive stage with a tone tilt, so you choose which frequencies are pushed into the distortion without changing the final tone.

- Output transformer — hysteresis-modelled iron (tone, coercivity, leakage, mix) for low-end weight and glue.

- Harmonic exciter — tuneable high-frequency harmonics for presence and air.

- Noise — subtle transient-reactive or constant analog noise for vintage texture.
Beyond the hardware
- Per-parameter modulation — envelope followers, LFOs and macros let the EQ and saturation move with the performance, something no hardware unit can do.

- Full MIDI CC mapping and macro assignments for hands-on or automated control.

- Phase invert and input/output gain staging.
Presets & workflow
- A large preset library — vocals, full drum kit and individual drum elements, bass, guitars, keys, synth, master bus and more — each split into subtle mixing presets and bolder creative ones.

- A single-window interface with everything in view: no menu-diving.

Analog modules.

Any configuration.

Any order.

RUST-EQ le bleu is not just an analog recreation of the famous Pultec© EQ, it goes far beyond that…

The RUST series does not simply replicate effects we have all seen hundreds of times. It provides an engine designed to avoid frustration caused by a lack of character or limited modulation capabilities.

Extended parameter ranges cover the spectrum ideally — push the BOOST and CUT knobs further than ever before.

Full modulation.

Full control.

RUST-EQ features Class A and Class B tube stages for a rich warm sound, analog component noise, the imperfection of a Transformer, and an integrated Exciter, allowing your tracks to cut through the mix with precisely the character you choose to print.

Whether you need a subtle touch of analog warmth or complete sonic destruction, RUST-EQ delivers.
